How does one introduce him or herself? Normally you provide your name, then depending on the setting, you might provide your job title or interests or purpose for being where ever you might be. Introductions have always been hard for me because I don't know how much information to share about myself. I seem to overshare way to soon into the conversation. I mistaken politeness for true interest. However, since this is my blog and if you really want to follow me, I think you need to know who I am.
Hi, my name is Lori and I'm a mother of two grown children - Kirsten and Derek. I have been married to Kelvin for nearly 28 years, I guess you can say we were High School sweethearts, since I married him while I was still in High School. Too much information to soon? Oh well. Both of my children are married and live far away from home. My daughter has been married for over 5 years and lives in Vancouver WA (not British Columbia, but close) with her husband Brad. They have one daughter who loves to sing and climb. My son and his wife Jessa have been married for over three years and they are expecting their first child real soon. They live in San Diego CA for now. I work at Hallmark Cards, no I don't write or create cards or any type of product, I'm a number cruncher. Currently I simply have a high school diploma but I'm working towards a bachelors degree for speech pathology.
Why have I decided to start blogging? There are three reasons, first, I feel as if I have a lot of "lessons" to share. I learn a lot everyday from a lot of different people and I really would like to share that knowledge and widsom. Sometimes people don't realize they are teaching me, but never the less, I learn something new every day. Second, in my pursuit of a college degree I had to take several English classes, which required a lot of writing. I realized I liked writing and liked the feed back I received from my teachers and classmates. With the feed back I learned so much about myself and would like to continue that type of learning. Finally, I have a lot on my mind and I need to get it out, some might call those thoughts opinions. I already have a long list of blog topics.
My intentions for this blog is not to simply share my opinion or force my opinion other others. I hope to inspire those that choose to read my blog to see a different side of situation or to take action. I also hope to share all the great wisdom and knowlege I have received from so many people. And in addition, maybe entertain you a little.
I would encourge you to give me feed back on any of the blogs. All I ask is that you be honest but nice with your feed back. I will have opinions that might be different than yours; therefore, they might offend or anger you. It's okay if we disagree and I don't mind if you tell me why you disagree. But no name calling or personal derogatory remarks, please.
Now I just need to decide which topic to start with. . . . .
